Reeds attracts mason bees better than cardboard craft paper or bamboo. There is nothing kill bee faster than moisture, mold, and chemicals. Craft paper absorbs moisture and contains unsafe chemicals which is unsafe for the mason bees. Bamboo attracts mold which kills bees. Reeds grows in water and they are naturally moisture and mold proof. Bee can have the comfort nesting in the reed tubes.
Let it bee optimal
Tube made for Mason bees needs to be at proper size. Our rigorous selection process ensures the inner diameter is 5/16 inch just big enough to fit the bees. These are natural reeds so the diameter will slightly vary by 1/25 inch, only bigger not smaller. Total diameter of 3/8 inch.Each tube is also hand polished for a smooth inner surface for the little creatures to make comfortable themselves. Tubes are also cut before the ridges so they can be stacked properly.Reed tube is crunchy and can be easily split in half. Once cocoons are ready to be harvested, snap and split the reed rube, the baby cocoons can be removed harmlessly without unnecessary hassles.
Let it bee thoughtful
Clay are highly sculptural and easy to break down to pieces. It’s provided to seal one end of the tube to make it tidy, neat, and ideal for staking.Lots of the bee house hosting these tubes are either made of bamboo or wood, which are less ideal environment for the valuable mason bees. We include a free pvc raincoat for these basic structures to further help keeping them dry.Once cocoons are harvested, the old tubes are split and done. Free 100 tubes refills provided by in one year upon request. We give you another set free when you need them.Better than paper tubes and better than bamboo for ideal diameter and easier to open.
